I am a fly. Don't misjudge me.

We're taking it easy this week. Instead of reviewing 22 episodes of a show, we watched a couple of ridiculous movies and drank a lot of vodka. We start off our discussion with a debate on whether or not the movie Southland Tales is a comedy and then we move in to our feature of the week, Makkhi! This Bollywood film is a classic romantic comedy in which a man is killed and reincarnated as a fly. Hijinks ensue!

Buffy Showcase-Season 4

Pathetic Spike! Drunk Giles! Famous Jonathan! The Fool's Lantern discusses some of the high points for our favorite characters in season 4 as well as some of the low points (cough...Adam..cough). We also drink delicious foamy beer and our mental faculties degrade slowly throughout the show. That will show us for being such snobby intellectuals! Blade Runner 2049 Showcase

This week, the Fool's Lantern is joined by Ben and Amanda. After a review of Lagunitas Sakitumi, an ale with sake yeast & rice, the crew delves in to Blade Runner 2049. We struggle with pronouncing the name Denis Villeneuve correctly and spend some time discussing the cult classic that started it all. Plus, we find the fingerprints of Ridley Scott on the film and consider how much greater the role of Niander Wallace would have been if played by David Bowie as intended. RIP Starman!

Buffy Showcase-Season 2

The Fool's Lantern crew is joined by very special guest David to discuss Buffy season 2.  Don't adjust your podcast app, we skipped over season 1.  If we get enough angry letters, we'll go back.  We start off this episode with a review of Austin Eastciders Blood Orange Cider (get it?) and a discussion of some of the historical Emmys awarded this year before starting our showcase of one of the most influential shows of the 1990's.  Sit back and listen to us dissect the true meaning behind some of the cheesy monster-of-the week episodes of this season.  Grrr. Arrgh.
